What counts as an asset?
An asset is one unique equipment record: a panelboard, a transformer, a disconnect, a motor control center. NorthGrid organizes asset types around the electrical products identified in NFPA 70B, with an Other type for anything that does not fit. Your plan's asset count is the number of records you actively manage, not the number of inspections or reports.
Do I pay per user?
No. Every plan includes unlimited users for your own team and unlimited view-only logins for your clients. Pricing is based on asset count and media storage, so adding a field tech or giving a client access never changes your bill.
What counts toward media storage?
Photographs, infrared imagery (including radiometric originals), PDFs, documents, and imported test or instrument files attached to assets, sites, or clients. Database records, attribute values, audit history, and user accounts do not count. Generated reports are stored separately under your tier's report-retention policy.
What happens if I go over my storage?
You get a 30-day grace period, and NorthGrid measures a trailing average so a large batch import does not trip the limit on its own. If you are still over after the grace period, new uploads pause until you add storage or reduce usage. Existing data is never deleted because you exceeded your allocation, and you can keep viewing, searching, generating reports, and sharing links.
What if I outgrow my asset count?
Upgrade any time from your account. Upgrades take effect when provisioned. On monthly billing the new rate starts with your next billing period; on annual billing you pay the prorated difference for the rest of your term. Downgrades take effect at your next renewal, provided your asset count fits the lower tier.
How does annual billing work?
Annual plans are paid once a year in advance at 10% off the monthly rate. Both monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically until you turn off renewal in your account settings. Cancelling renewal keeps your access through the end of the paid term.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
You can export your data any time during an active subscription. After a subscription ends, NorthGrid retains your production data for 90 days so you can request a standard export or reactivate.
Is NorthGrid a compliance or inspection service?
No. NorthGrid is a cloud platform for documenting, organizing, and reporting on electrical assets in support of maintenance practices such as NFPA 70B. Engineering decisions, inspections, testing, and regulatory compliance remain the responsibility of your qualified personnel.
Details on billing, storage measurement, upgrades, and cancellation are set out in the NorthGrid Terms of Service. Prices are in US dollars and exclude applicable taxes.
