Cookies, tracking technologies, and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use northgridtracking.com. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies in your browser that assign a randomly generated identifier to your device and record how you arrived at the site and which pages you view. This information is used in aggregate to measure traffic and improve the site.
We do not use advertising, remarketing, or third-party tracking pixels on this site, and we do not sell or share analytics data for advertising purposes.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using the browser add-on Google provides for that purpose. The site remains usable with cookies disabled.
Platform data
When a business subscribes to the NorthGrid platform, the platform stores the data that customer enters or uploads in order to manage its electrical assets. This includes equipment and asset records, site and client information, inspection and maintenance history, deficiency records, uploaded documents and photographs, generated reports, and the user accounts the customer creates for its own personnel. This data belongs to the customer. NorthGrid processes it only to provide, secure, maintain, support, and improve the platform, as described in our Terms of Service.
2. How We Use Information
- To respond to inquiries and provide the information you requested.
- To schedule and conduct product demonstrations.
- To send service messages and, where you have consented, marketing communications.
- To provide, maintain, secure, and improve the NorthGrid platform.
- To meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
3. Mobile Information and Text Messaging
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text message services who assist us in delivering messages. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent entirely.
If you provide a mobile number and affirmatively check the SMS consent box on our contact form (including when that form is completed on a NorthGrid-provided device at a trade show or event), you agree to receive informational text messages from NorthGrid about your inquiry and demo scheduling. We do not send promotional or marketing text messages under this program.
- Consent is not a condition of purchase.
- Message frequency varies.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP at any time to opt out of further messages. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us using the details below.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Our messaging number is (619) 389-2383.
We retain a record of your consent, including the date and time, the number provided, and the exact consent language you were shown.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf, and only as needed to deliver our services.
- Web hosting and infrastructure providers that run our website and platform.
- Email delivery providers used to send service and, where consented, marketing email.
- Text messaging providers, including the aggregators and wireless carriers that deliver SMS messages on our behalf.
- Customer relationship management and marketing automation tools used to track inquiries and schedule demos.
- Web analytics providers (currently Google Analytics), as described above.
- Payment processors, for customers who purchase a subscription. NorthGrid does not store full payment card numbers.
- We may disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
- If NorthGrid is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
5. Data Retention
- Inquiry records submitted through our contact form are retained for as long as we are in contact with you about your inquiry and for a reasonable period afterward, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- SMS consent and opt-out records are retained for the life of the messaging program and for no less than four years after your most recent opt-in or opt-out, so that we can demonstrate consent and honor your opt-out.
- Platform data is retained for the duration of the customer's subscription. Following expiration or termination, production data is retained for ninety (90) days, during which the customer may request an export, after which it may be permanently deleted. Copies may persist in backups for a limited period afterward in accordance with our normal backup-retention practices. See Section 8 of our Terms of Service.
6. Security
We maintain commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include:
- Encrypted transport. Traffic between your browser or device and our systems is protected using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- Access controls. The NorthGrid platform provides role-based permissions, and access to systems holding personal information is limited to personnel who need it.
- Two-factor authentication. Two-factor authentication is required for every NorthGrid platform user account.
- Credential protection. Account passwords are stored using one-way cryptographic hashing and are not retrievable by NorthGrid personnel.
- Hosting. Production data is hosted with commercially reasonable third-party infrastructure providers, and is intended to be hosted within the United States.
- Incident response. If we confirm unauthorized access to customer data that is reasonably likely to materially affect a customer, we will notify that customer without undue delay.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Security depends on both parties: customers are responsible for safeguarding their credentials and for the security of the devices and networks they use to access the platform.
Except where separately agreed in writing, NorthGrid does not commit to encryption of all data at rest. See Section 9.5 of the NorthGrid Online SaaS End User License and Subscription Agreement at northgridtracking.com/terms.php.
